GRANDPARENTs DO HAVE A ROLE TO PLAY

In today's culture, parenting is an exceptionally challenging job for  young couples. What a blessing it can be for them when grandparents--whether living nearby or far away--are involved in their lives and their children's.  We cannot deny that our role as grandparents often stretches us beyond our capability. We can also testify heartily that building relationships with grandchildren can be a genuine gift from heaven.

The special relationship between a grandparent and a grandchild is entirely different from the bond that exists between a parent and a child.  Grandparenting, in comparison to the role of parenting, is a grand time of life.

As grandparents, we can bring  a deep sense of stability and security in the home. It is meaningful for grandchildren to know that they are loved and accepted by others in addition to their parents.  When we profess a faith that is real and personal, our influence on young lives is even more powerful.  The perceptive little eyes of our grandchildren are watching closely and taking in everything about us.  Our living testimony of faith can leave a profound imprint on their minds and hearts.

In God's eyes you may play a more vital role in God's greater plan than what is presently visible. God set us in families and you are a part of yours for a divine purpose.

  1. Hello Mrs. Dottie. I am a Pastor from Mumbai, India. I am glad to stop by your profile on the blogger and the blog post. I am also blessed and feel privileged and honored to get connected with you as well as know how the Lord has blessed you in your married life to see your grand children and great grand children too. I am also glad to know that your husband Rogers teaches a course on Finance in a Biblical perspective. I liked your post on grand parents having a role to play. It is a reminder and revelation to the grand parents. We are a grand parents of tree kids and we have been married since 1979 October. I love getting connected with the people of God around the globe to be encouraged, strengthened and praying for one another. I have been in the Pastoral ministry for last 40 yrs in this great city of Mumbai a city with a great contrast where richest of rich and the poorest of poor live. We reach out to the poorest of poor with the love of Christ to bring healing to the brokenhearted. We also encourage young and the adults from the west to come to Mumbai to work with us during their vacation time. We would love to have your grand children or great grand children those who are in their late teens and above to come to Mumbai to work with us during their vacaton time. It will be also a rewarding time for the church in Mumbai if you both yourself and Rogers come to Mumbai to encourage the body of Christ as well as teach the leaders about finances in Biblical perspective. I am sure it will be a rewarding time for us too. Looking forward to hear from you very soon.God's richest blessings on you, your family and friends also wishing you a blessed and a Christ centred rest of the year 2018. My email id is : dhwankhede(at)gmail(dot)com and my name is Diwakar Wankhede
